Please don't misunderstand: I'm not trying to be argumentative, nor is it my goal to change your mind, but you have It's correct that the Styles Pane doesn't support keyboard navigation, but I fail to see how that is overcome by the Styles combo box device. fast workflow for using Styles (like before), please let me know. With the old method in Word Mac 2008, I hit Command+Shift+S which activates that Styles box on the toolbar, type a new name, hit enter. Then trying to define a new key combination that hasn't been used before, clicking OK from that, then clicking OK from the main dialog window. If I format some text and want to quickly turn that into a new style for that document, it requires pulling up the Styles pane, clicking on New Style, naming the style in the new dialog window, clicking on the pulldown Format box, navigating to Shortcut Key, One problem with this approach is that it doesn't allow me to quickly define new styles, update styles, or reapply styles without going through a lot more steps. Is there a way to do that?Īs for assigning custom keystrokes to individual styles- please see my original post. but then I can't see how to navigate the actual pane with the keyboard.
